Grace Unplugged is an inspiring Christian movie of a teenage girl who leaves home to fulfill her dream of becoming famous in her music career. When Grace was a child, her father gave her a guitar for her birthday. She grew up in church and played and sang on the worship team with her father who was the leader.
Grace and her dad had frequent arguments over the way she would sing and play in church. As the leader of worship, he wanted things done a certain way. Gracie wanted to do things her own way. She felt that her father did not understand the talent that God had given her.
One day after numerous disagreements with her father, Grace decides to leave home to see if she could make a name for herself in the music industry. While away from home, Gracie is faced with some things that are compromising her faith. She also realizes that there is a lot of pressure and work involved in trying to become famous.
At first, it seems as if things are going well for her. The record company likes her songs and her concerts drew big crowds. In the mean time, back home, her father just entrusts his daughter in God’s hands. He was worried about what she may be doing on her own. He knows how tough it is to live in the real world. What he didn’t know, is that she met up with a Christian family who used to attend their church back home. The son in this family, who took an interest in her, kept her from straying too far from God.
It got to the point where the record company wanted her to record an album and Grace was also chosen to sing an opening song at a concert for a famous singer. She then realizes what her priorities are in life and walks out on them. She knew she had a chance to make it big in life, but she chose to go back home and continue singing at the church with her father. She apologized to her parents for leaving home and reconciled with her dad. Her father finally told her that he sees the talent that God has given her.
Two years later, she is engaged to the guy she met while she was away from home. At the end of the movie, Grace and her father are traveling and doing concerts together. This was a great story about a teenager who chose the right path for her life. In the end, her dream of making it big in the music industry became a reality. The only difference is that she was popular in the Christian music industry instead of the secular circles. She chose to sing songs that honor God.
