Are you a Glee fan? Glee is a popular American musical comedy-drama series aired on FOX channel. It follows a group of students in fictitious McKinley High School who form a glee club in school and competes in show choir competitions and their lives after they graduate. Glee has been on air since 2009 and is in its pen ultimate season, season 5. Last night, Glee aired its 100th episode where it featured many stars who were no longer on the series along with the current set of actors.
I love watching Glee and am an ardent fan. I think the show is a form of escapism from the world riddled with violence and guns and best part is the show is suitable for teens as well as adults. It is a fresh and clever hit show capturing funny along with music perfectly. The actors are equally talented and are fun to watch.
For the 100th episode shown last night, the returning cast members sang songs that were their character’s favorites in previous seasons. The songs and performances were perfect and the actors nailed it. The show also brought back several nostalgic moments from the earlier seasons. The characters are vivid – from a wise cracking, glee club hating cheerleader coach turned principal Sue to gay students to diva offs between female characters, Glee manages to cater to everybody’s needs. Glee always manages to capture the sensitive and dramatic topics such as Down’s syndrome, bullying and bulimia and many more.
I love Glee, because it makes me forget the world around and just enjoy the show without any thinking. The show makes me want to jump up and join them in the song. The show always brings about the trendiest songs and dance moves such as twerking.
Even though the show is soon nearing series finale, I sometimes feel that Glee is losing some of its early charm since its 100th episode. Early on Glee was a breath of fresh air, but now it is veering towards soap dramas without much of engaging plot lines. But still, I think Glee is awesome just for the music. Glee ought to stick to their initial concepts in order to keep their fan base till series finale. Hopefully, Glee returns to its former glory before it ends.
