There was once a time when I got so bored at home and wondered why there was nothing to do in the boring town that I lived in. There was, and still is, no mall, small shopping centers, we didn’t have any good restaurants like Red Lobster, no brand named stores like the Apple store, Old Navy other than Rue 21. The only fun option, if you wanted to hang out on the weekends, were going to the movies. My friends and I practically lived at the movies.
Now that I live in a big city, I think back to those days, and when I do, I usually end up slapping myself in the face. Technology has changed and it wasn’t that long ago when I lived in that small town and I lived all the way in the back woods..in the country with nothing to do. It has been about a year and this has been the longest that I’ve went without going to the movie theater. I can give you reasons why I gave up the movie theater.
Speaking of the movies, In the words of Samuel L. Jackson during the movie Snakes on a Plane: “Enough is enough. I’ve had it-.” Seriously, overpriced popcorn and food are a bit annoying. You wouldn’t believe how much a teeny weeny box of Sour Patch Kids cost- $5. You may be reading this and saying to yourself saying, “it can’t be that bad.” Next time you go to the movies, please remember how much you paid for a ticket and refreshments, take note of it, go back, and watch it increase.
No More Tickets??? What The-
One of the logical reasons as to why I gave up going to the movies is because I am the type of person who does not buy movie tickets…AT ALL. I think it’s overrated…I’m kidding but seriously. It’s mostly because I don’t think to buy tickets ahead of time. Where I lived we never had to. There were not many people in the town but when I wanted to see the last movie of a trilogy the tickets sold out so I had to choose another movie I may be interested in. That was apart of my ‘pretend’ game plan which takes me to the next reason.
No More Possibilities of Getting Caught Sneaking Into Another Movie
It’s not like I have ever tried or thought about doing this…(whistling)….What? Okay fine, I admit it but it’s not like the cops can come to my door and arrest me..right? God forbid but anyways it was once and even though the tickets were sold out there was nothing wrong with sneaking into the movie we wanted to see, sitting all the way in the very back, eating overly-seasoned popcorn like we didn’t do anything wrong.
Why Not Create Your Own Movie Night
Keywords: surround sound, dark room, HD television, Netflix/Redbox movie rental, good quality store bought popcorn, popcorn seasoning, and popcorn maker. Even if you can’t afford all of these together my friend showed me a website where you can watch any movie for free and the movie I watched on the website was still in theaters. I’m not sure if it’s legal or not but I’ll just stick with Netflix just to stay on the safe side.
In summary, why not save time and money by popping popcorn at home and hooking your laptop up to surround sound speakers thus creating a movie theater effect? If you plan on making this switch and giving up the movie theater then the last time you attend the movies you should watch a 3D movie and take the 3D glasses with you after all, I guess you can call me cheap.
