How I loved my DVR but I realized it is time to get rid of it. Having a DVR has really changed me and my family. I have found that they record a lot of unnecessary shows. I have notice them watching a show and taping it at the same time. To me I have realized it has become too much of a hassle, everybody wants to record something. And as many people are aware every DVR in the house can’t record at the same time and be watching television. At least that is what I have experienced with Uverse.
Many people I know that do have DVR’s only use them to record shows when they are not home to watch, or if it is two shows coming on at the same time. I do not think anyone does the same thing my family was doing, recording stuff just because they can. I myself found that I was recording a lot of things just because I had a DVR. I realized the effort to watch a program at its scheduled time has stopped because everyone just say “I’ll record it” or “DVR it”
DVR service does come in handy for the people who really need it and not the ones who abuse it like us. In the long run I really will miss my DVR but will like to save money and not have everyone in the house fighting over what is being recorded.
I really asked my children will they have a lot of fun recording shows if they had to use what I used when I was little “VCR”. I do not believe they will have a lot of fun putting a a VHS tape in the VCR to record a show. That will not be as fun and the DVR. Then again it probably will be worse because I am sure someone will probably record over someone else show.
My DVR has been great, but I want to see how well my children will get alone without it. Because if you think about it they haven’t always had DVR’s in their life so it shouldn’t be hard adjusting without it. On the other hand it is probably me who will the adjusting of not having a DVR.
