Helena: Tell us about your background and why you created TalentWatch?
Gary: I’m an entrepreneur with no background in the music business from a professional standpoint. I came at this concept from a fans perspective. I thought about it for about a year, decided to go for it, wrote it down in fact I started to write it down one night around 7 pm and didn’t finish until 7 am the next morning. The first year was a Beta site and the music platform went live in 2012. I did consult with some industry professionals.
TalentWatch was created to provide an opportunity for talented music artist to get discovered. Many famous artists became successful because of their ability to market themselves. There are so many unknown talented artists out there we don’t know about. TalentWatch provides aspiring artist an equal chance to be discovered and there isn’t any membership fee to register as an artist or fan.
Helena: What are some of the big milestones since the launch of TalentWatch?
Gary: Early on we got noticed by NBC’s show The Voice and at one point our site was the only link on NBC’s website, this was before the first season of The Voice. We have also gotten the attention from industry professionals, record labels, music fans and radio stations just to name a few.
Helena: Tell us about your latest contest on TalentWatch, Rock Against Trafficking?

The winner will also have an original song produced and featured on BuTown Entertainment’s Record label that will be distributed by Universal Records and if signed there will be a chance to have an entire album produced by BuTown Entertainment.
In addition, the first 500 contestants who enroll in the contest will be entered into a drawing and the lucky winner will receive an ESP Guitar, signed by some of the legendary artist’s performing on the album.
