If you are anything like me then you love summer time. Summer means the beginning of swimming season and the water parks are open. I have made a list of water parks and local swimming pools in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas that you should take advantage of this summer. Enjoy!
Located right next to Waterfront shopping center by Homestead in Pittsburgh is Sandcastle. Sandcastle is a great option for anyone during the hot season. If you like a variety of water slides, wave pools, and a lazy river then this is the place for you! Daring riders can take advantage of The Monster which is the highest free fall slide. If you want to relax and enjoy the rays then the Lazy River is the place for you. Grab a refreshing drink, a tube, and slowly drift down the river. One of the most popular attractions is the Mon Tsunami. This is Sandcastle’s 20,000 square foot wave pool! Lifejackets are required for the smaller swimmer. There is a designated area for children and it is always supervised by lifeguards.
If you are hungry or thirsty then there are many options for you to choose from. Potato Patch– which is a popular food spot- is available. Adults even have the option of cooling down with a refreshing beverage at Boardwalk Beer.
The park opens Memorial Day weekend for several days but its full season starts on June 7th. As always, season passes are available for a reasonable fee starting at $54.99 and several options are available. Day passes can also be purchased at the gate for $31.99.

Meadow Run Natural Waterslide
Take a day trip up to Ohiopyle this summer and enjoy the all natural waterslide of Meadow Run. The best time to go would be after rainfall but, please, be cautious.
