After a snow filled, dreary winter, we are grateful to see the sun and spring. With the springtime comes one of my favorite holidays, Easter. Yep, it’s time for Easter. What better way to usher in the holidays than to decorate your home with cute Easter eggs and bunnies. During Easter, my home is generally transformed into a fake grass, Easter bunny oasis. The children enjoyed the bright colors and decorations, but what they enjoyed most was devouring their Easter candy in their baskets.
The Easter basket is something that stands the test of time in our family. No matter how old your children are, you can give them an Easter basket that reminds them just how much you care about them. I am in my 30s and my mother still gives me an Easter basket every year. I love it, I feel just like a kid again. Here are a few Easter basket ideas for the teenager in your life.
You can give your teen an Easter basket that they will be proud of, if you place the items in there that they need for everyday use. Instead of toys and stuffed animals, why not stock the basket with useful items for your teen? It’s the Axe theme for my 14 year old son. Since he likes the Axe products, I fill his Easter basket with Axe deodorant, hair spray, gel and soap. I also add new underwear and t-shirts in his Basket.
Basket for the College Bound Teen
Since my 17-year-old niece will be college bound this year, her basket will have a college theme to it. I will fill her basket with hair care products, an alarm clock, a memory stick, a travel pack of laundry detergent, shower flip flops, combs and brushes and a curling iron. These items will be arranged inside a large shower caddy lined with a towel and washcloth set. This will be my college care package and Easter basket in one.
Baskets for the Girly Girl
For my 15-year-old niece, I pack a basket for the girly girl. Instead of candy and chocolates, she gets a pretty stuffed animal and fun makeup items. I also fill her basket with nail polish, lipsticks and samples of hair products. Since she loves all things girly, her basket is usually a “Hello Kitty Theme” basket with pink items galore. Include a small stuffed animal to increase the cute factor. I also toss in a few small packs of their favorite candy.
