Guess what folks! It’s spring time again and that means it’s time to get that winter grime out of our vehicles. Cleaning the interior of your Vehicle shouldn’t be back breaking. Try one of these tips to ensure a great, fresh smelling clean interior.
Seats- If you are like the rest of us and have cloth seats, try out resolve carpet cleaner combined with a non-abrasive sponge. You may want to put the resolve onto the sponge and dab each area to remove the stain. If you want an allover fresh up, lightly wet the sponge and wipe your seats.
Carpets- Require a little more elbow grease to get ready for a spring day. I prefer to use scented pine-sol and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes. After allowing it to sit I either use a wet/dry vacuum cleaner or if really bad, I use an electric carpet extractor (cleaner) to wash the carpet while also removing all the water while leaving a clean scent.
Dash/Plastic parts of door- At first, I wash them with dawn dish soap and a terry cloth towel- go very light on the soap 2 tbsp. to a gallon of water should be good. This removes all the grime and build-up especially if you are a smoker. After, I completely dry and allow to air dry a bit more, I like to use Armor All to give a nice shine. Make sure to completely rub the Armor All into the surfaces to avoid a greasy feel.
Glass- First, I take a few old towels or bunched up paper towels and stuff them at the bottom of the windshield to collect any grime that may run down the glass. I like to use the old fashioned tried and true newspaper to clean the interior glass in my vehicle. Bunch the newspaper up and use Windex with Vinegar to lightly spray the window before wiping it away. If you are a smoker, you may have to clean the windows a few times.
Air Fresher- This is probably one of the simplest interior cleaning tip you will ever do. Instead of buying the expensive air vent fresheners or under the seat gels, I like to take a fabric softener sheet and stuff it around the vents near your feet. If you want a fresher smell, put a few under the seats. After a warm day and your car sitting in the sun, it will warm up and release the scents
Cleaning the interior of your car may take some time, but in the end the fresh, clean and welcoming scent will have your vehicle thanking you.
