The Balloon Fest
The Balloon Fest is held early in the morning on the third, fourth, and fifth of July. It starts at 6:30am with the inflating of the balloons and ends at 8am. Families and children are welcome to walk among the balloons as they are being inflated, something a lot of children find fascinating to watch.
There are also contests that the pilots of the balloons participate in, such as the Hare and the Hound Competition, where they drop bean bags on targets, plus try to pop large balloons with sharp sticks from up to 300 feet above the ground.

The Stadium of Fire
The Stadium of Fire starts at 8pm and is held at the Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. This year will be the Stadium of Fire’s 34th year. When I was just a kid, I always heard the Stadium of Fire mentioned in conjunction with The Osmond’s. I don’t know if there is still a connection today. The event is loaded with performers ranging from local to national. This year’s headliner is Carrie Underwood. The host of the show will be J.R. Martinez, who is a former U.S. Army soldier. And of course there will be an awesome fireworks show at the end.
