We’ve all felt the urge to go out and dance at one time or another, or at the very least a deep urge to go watch others dance to some great, loud music. A popular place to do both is a nightclub, where you can drink, listen to music, and get out on the floor and shake it like you just don’t care. Here are four places where you can do all of that, right here in the Springfield/Eugene area.
Mac’s Restaurant and Nightclub
Blues fans will feel right at home at Mac’s Restaurant and Nightclub in Downtown Eugene. Located in the historic Veteran’s Memorial Building, Mac’s hosts nightly live blues music, and frequently having specials available. Offering a wide variety of food and drink, as well as a sizable dance floor and friendly environment, Mac’s is even a great place to go just to get a bite to eat. Mac’s is open Tuesday through Saturday 4pm until whenever they decide to close that night. For more information, drop by during their normal hours at 1626 Willamette Street in Eugene, or give them a ring at 541-344-8600.
Playing venue to a wide variety of music genres, Luckey’s Club is the oldest bar not just in Eugene, but in all of Lane County. Hosting a grand amount of pool tables, Luckey’s has been in business since 1911. The owner describes the establishment as being like “a time capsule with a hip twist!” For the humidor clients out there, Luckey’s is also the oldest cigar shop in the state, offering a wide variety of cigars tailored to fit your budget and quality requirements. Feel free to take a look yourself at 933 Olive Street in Eugene. Questions can be directed to 541-687-4643.
Paradise Night Club
For the younger readers, or the young at heart, Paradise Night Club seems like a big city transplant in our little town. Featuring all the latest music, as well as live local talent, Paradise offers a hip atmosphere with catchy music. Open Friday and Saturday 8pm to 2:30am. Call in advance for age requirements, as they depend on the genre of the night. They can be reached at 541-687-5744. They are located at 2101 Bailey Hill Road in Eugene. Ample parking is available.
Featuring a live DJ, Rock’n Rodeo is a campus hot-spot is great for the young and old alike. Open Monday through Wednesday 11am to 1am, and open until 3am Thursday through Saturday, Rock’n Rodeo offers a variety of music, decent drinks, and a generally friendly atmosphere. In the past, this venue has had a history in the past of some pretty unsavory activity, which is all in the past. It’s been cleaned up extremely well, and I give it a high recommendation.
