1. The Sacramento Earth Day Celebration at Southside Park.
The Sacramento Earth Day Celebration at Southside Park takes place on Saturday, April 9 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is a big event and it’s the 45th annual one. There are going to be over 100 tables and vendors offering and selling items that promote saving money, living healthier, and protecting the environment. There are also 5 live bands scheduled to perform and there will be plenty of different types of food available for purchase to enjoy at the event or for you to bring home. The event is free so it is perfect for the whole family. There is expected to be over 4,000 people attending the event and everyone is welcome.
2. Earth Fest at the Sacramento Zoo.
Earth Fest is an event happening at the Sacramento Zoo on Saturday, April 5 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are many activities planned throughout the day for all ages during the event. This includes making crafts for kids and face painting as well as demonstrations by Tesla Motors and local environmental groups. It’s a fun-filled educational day that the whole family will enjoy. Admission is $11.25 for adults, $10.50 for seniors, $7.25 for children 2-11, and free for children 1 and younger. 3. Wild and Scenic Film Festival at Sierra College.
The Wild and Scenic Film Festival will be presented at Sierra College on Thursday, April 24 at 7:00 pm. This is a traveling event that is making it’s stop at the college to celebrate Earth Day. This event showcases films that discuss different aspects about the environment and also features speakers who motivate attendees to be more environmentally friendly. 4. Save the Frogs Day at Effie Yeaw Nature Center.
The Save the Frogs Day event is to be held at the Effie Yeaw Nature Center in Carmichael, California on Saturday, April 26 at 10:30 am. It’s a free event but they would greatly appreciate any donations. It’s a great event to learn about frogs and to make frog inspired crafts. They stress that space is limited and for anyone that is interested in the event should show up 30 minutes before it starts.
