Shimmy off the Pounds

For those of you who want to have some serious fun while shedding those pounds, why not try a dance class? Astor Street Studios offers almost every type of dancing imaginable: Egyptian Belly Dance, Belly Dance with Props, Nia, Salsa, Ballroom, Gypsy Skirt Dance, African, Kathak and Bollywood. If you don’t want to commit to a membership just yet, drop-ins are welcome for several classes for around $10-$15. Astor Street Studios also offers other (some of them non-traditional, like Doga-dog yoga) exercise classes.

Get in to Crossfit

Greendale CrossFit was voted the #1 CrossFit Gym in Milwaukee on WISNs 2013 A-list, so this is the place to try this fitness trend, known for being intense and producing great results. According to the gym, CrossFit is “constantly varied, functional movements, performed at high intensity”. One free into class is available if you want to give CrossFit a try before signing up.

Get Booted into Shape with Boot Camp

Wild Workouts and Wellness offers several of these Boot Camp fitness plans, designed to shed fat and boost your metabolism. For those of you with something important coming up, they might just have the right fitness plan for you, from their 3-month Bridal Boot Camp, to their 21-Day Body Back Challenge for Moms. This gym would be great for anyone looking to get into shape fast or for a special event, or for people just looking for an intense workout.

Slide Down the Scale

If you want to be extra sexy when you finally slim down (sorry, ladies only), try Pole Dancing. Working the pole is a great workout that strengthens your core as you learn a bit about seduction. Miss Pole offers classes all the way from the introductory level one, to level eight where you are declared the “Pole Master”. If pole dancing isn’t your thing, you can try lapdancing class, a great cardio workout, or Burlesque Dancing.
