Celebrity wedding gowns reveal personal style and charisma. Fashion forward brides can’t help looking up to some of the most noteworthy celebrity wedding gowns that have been important to setting major trends. Paving the way for brides everywhere, a few celebrities have caught the attention of the media more than others over the past decade. Some of the best styles have had fairly modest necklines and decadent embellishments. While examining some of the most gossip-worthy wedding gowns that celebrities have worn, I found the most beautiful styles that any bride would want to emulate.
- Nicole Kidman
As a Nashville, Tennessee native, I often find myself looking to Nicole Kidman for style inspiration. Over the past few years living here, I caught a few glimpses of Kidman and I was always very impressed with how beautiful she was in person. Examining Kidman’s wedding dress from her 2006 wedding to Keith Urban, I thought the reserved style was incredibly elegant and timeless. With a high collar and short sleeves, the Balenciaga dress had a beautiful style that almost belonged in another century, an Old Hollywood style, but with modern glamour. The textures and buttons made the dress very unique and helped set trends for elegant brides everywhere.
- Kate Middleton
Obviously the world embraced Kate Middleton’s wedding gown. After the wedding, many brides, including Kim Kardashian during her wedding to Kanye West in 2014, were rumored to emulate Middleton’s gown for their own wedding. With long, lacy sleeves, the royal wedding gown had a timeless elegance and a stylish sophistication. Mixing conservative style with a modern V-neck, the dress appealed to brides everywhere. While the gown emphasized Middleton’s slim figure, it had a traditional design that clearly fascinated many.
- Kate Moss
No stranger to expensive, beautiful fashions, supermodel Kate Moss chose an extravagant style for her wedding gown in 2011. With a gold, shimmery bottom, the gown had sparkles that would catch anyone’s attention. Pairing elegance with a bohemian vibe, the wedding gown fit the personality of Moss wonderfully. As one of the least conservative styles, the gown had a low neckline and sheer one inch straps. Moss did an excellent job of using a style that showed off her free spirit personality without being over the top or too revealing. Although subtle details made the gown have an extravagant edge, the gown had a lot of features that would look great on any bride, not just celebrities.
- Ivanka Trump
Always emanating a professional image, Ivanka Trump chose a wedding dress that offered some coverage of her neckline. Beautiful lace covered the neckline and arms. Clearly the traditional, classic style appealed to many. Inspired by Grace Kelly, the gown was feminine and sophisticated. Even though the dress had a traditional style, it had elegance and glamour to avoid being too ultra-conservative.
- Elizabeth Banks
Beauty met simplicity with the wedding dress that Elizabeth Banks wore. While getting married to a college sweetheart, Banks chose a wedding gown with a straight silhouette. On the skirt, the fabric had subtle, lovely motion as Banks walked down the aisle. With a one inch strap and V-neck on the neckline, the gown showed off Banks’ clavicle without plunging too low. Emanating confidence, Banks chose a style that didn’t have extra embellishments to make a loud fashion statement. Banks made her statement with a simple gown that elegantly showed off her natural beauty.
