The days of leisurely afternoons spent drinking on patios are here! With the warmer weather comes the urge to order up a margarita to enjoy on a sun-drenched patio. Denver has some of the best margs around — and the best tacos to enjoy them with! Here are five interesting margaritas I personally enjoy!
1. Prickly Pear-Blueberry Margarita at La Sandia
This sweet, bright pink concoction is a refreshing twist on typical fruity margs. The tequila is infused with prickly pear and blueberries and served on the rocks. Don’t forget to ask for a sugared rim! La Sandia has two locations, in Stapleton and at Park Meadows. Happy hour is a steal and lasts all night long if you’re at the bar!
2. Rio Margarita at The Rio Grande
Whether on the rocks or frozen, strawberry or traditional, you can’t go wrong with these strong margaritas. The Rio has several Colorado locations and, come baseball season, you can enjoy one of these beverages on the new rooftop deck at Coors Field!
3. Pinche Paloma at Pinche Tacos
This drink could even pass for a brunch beverage if necessary! Exotico Blacno tequila is mixed with fresh grapefruit and lime juice, agave, and squirt. Take yours with a salted rim to offset the tartness. Pinche Palomas can be found at the City Park or LoHi locations. Bonus — they’re extra-cheap at happy hour!
4. The Skinny at Margs World Taco Bistro
Looking to save a few calories during happy hour? Try this lightened-up version of your favorite drink. Herradurra Silver tequila, agave and real lime juice are swirled together to give you a crisp margarita that’s low in sugar, not on alcohol! Margs World Taco Bistro has a huge Cherry Creek patio and a Downtown spot.
5. Watermelon Margarita at Wazee Supper Club
Sip this tasty treat for a limited time – it’s only available during the summer. This perfectly-pink drink is a girly, refreshing libation. Wazee Supper Club is located in Downtown Denver.
