Imagine driving around and coming across a beautiful home. I’m sure many questions pop up including how much does it cost or how many bedrooms does it have or what is the square footage? No need to worry if you have the Homesnap app! This neat little app allows a picture to be taken of any home and within seconds, full details of the home are displayed.
I had to try this to believe it after hearing about it from a friend. The app is available for free in the Apple and Google Play stores and the download takes only a few minutes. After registering, either Facebook or unique credentials, Homesnap is ready for use. Using the Homesnap app, you can take a photo of any home, nationwide, to find out all about it. Open the app and in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, click the camera icon. Once the front of the home is in view, click the large blue button at the bottom of your screen to take the picture. To save it, hit “Save my Snap” after taking the picture. If you want to share the picture with your friend, there is an icon directly under the main picture on the far right. If you click on this icon you have the option to text message, mail, tweet or post the picture to Facebook. For listed homes, you may be able to see interior photos too! When you’re ready to buy or sell real estate, you can contact a real estate agent within Homesnap to schedule a showing or list your home.
So, what actually shows up after you take the picture of the home? Number of beds, baths, square footage, and acres show up immediately along with the price in large font. Scrolling down gives you full details of the property including type, year built, estimated taxes, construction, parking, fireplaces, exterior and roof material, heating, air conditioning feature, and whether it has a basement. But that’s not all. Scrolling even further are a list of schools in the area along with their ratings, list of realtors if interested, and prices of nearby homes. All of this information with only a single picture of the home. Amazing!
Homesnap is a great way to scan homes you’re interested in to get some background of the property as well as the surrounding areas. Appointments with realtors can then be made (if the home is for sale) for more of a detailed tour. What a great concept and I highly recommend the app for everyone!
