Fledgling independent filmmakers practicing their craft, transform their inner vision and raw ambition into a film that is hoped to be seen by people around the world someday.
If not for film festivals, these budding film makers may forever remain in obscurity. Held all around the world, it is at these annual events where limited budget films are showcased and judged. It is precisely at these film festivals that cinema fans often have the only opportunity to experience the new and oftentimes adventurous films they may otherwise never find in local movie theaters.
Located on the northeastern coast of Florida and founded in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the United States. Being a major tourist destination, the St. Augustine annual film festival gives new local film making talent an opportunity to shine all while celebrating the art of film, and championing the local artists who produce them.
Starting March, 1st and running unto December, 31st of 2014, here in historic St. Augustine, we will be featuring a number of independent film attractions and events to offer the general public. Here, I list a few of the upcoming film events along with feature dates as well as the listed venues in and around our old city.
