In May, we celebrate Mom – in June, it’s Dad’s turn to be recognized for all he’s done for us in the past. Check out some of these events taking place in the Western New York area on the weekend including Sunday, June 15 and celebrate Dad with some fun.
North Amherst Fire Department Father’s Day Breakfast – the 30th annual all-you-can-eat breakfast takes place from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 15 at North Amherst Fire Department, at the corner of Tonawanda Creek Rd. and Campbell Blvd. in Amherst. The breakfast will feature pancakes, scrambled eggs, fries, sausage, mini donuts and beverage; cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 3 to 10 and free for children under 3.
Wine and Cheese Weekend – celebrate Father’s Day weekend, Friday through Sunday, June 13 through 15, with wine and cheese pairings sponsored by Yancey’s Fancy at participating wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door; hours are Friday noon to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
Latitude 43 Music Festival – if Dad’s into blues, rock or country music, check out this three-day festival at Artpark, off Center St. in Lewiston, taking place Friday through Sunday, June 13 through 15. The festival, with Blues on Friday, rock on Saturday and country on Sunday, benefits the Variety Kids Telethon and will feature 14 acts including five national recording artists.
Allentown Art Festival – find some new art for Dad at this annual festival, taking place Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15 in the Allentown Historic Preservation District in Buffalo, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. The juried event features more than 400 exhibitors and is hosted by the Allentown Village Society.
Merritt Estate Winery Strawberry Festival – Dad can meet actor Daniel Baldwin, check out the classic car show (both days at noon), try chocolate, wine and strawberry delicacies and listen to live music at Merritt Estate Winery, 2264 King Rd. in Forestville on Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15 at. Hours for the festival are noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Clutch Artists Father’s Day Spring-A-Rama – get the classic car, hot rod or muscle car out of the garage and head to Quaker Steak and Lube, 6727 Transit Rd. in Lancaster, on Sunday, June 15 for this annual car show benefitting the Variety Kids Telethon. Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and awards will be handed out at 4 p.m.
