Before moving to Florida, I had eaten very little Mexican food. Sure, my family and I would make something akin to ‘tacos’ at home every now and then, but it wasn’t until I moved down south that I even tried much Mexican food. Since I’ve been down here, though, I’ve sampled a lot of it, and I’ve found some of the best breakfast burritos this side of the border. Whether you’re looking for a breakfast with an authentic taste of Mexico or you want a more eclectic mix of Mexican with American, you really can find some great breakfast burritos here in Central Florida. Here are some of the best:
California Burrito Express: Located at 3922 East Colonial Drive, California Burrito Express stuffs their breakfast burritos with so much fresh stuff, you probably won’t be able to finish it … but try your best, because these are exquisito! The portions are substantial, and you can get your breakfast burrito just about any way you want it. And they’re open 24 hours! For more information, call (407) 894-8250.
Contempo Cafe: Funny. I had been to Disney many times, but it wasn’t until I moved to Florida and got my annual pass that I tasted their spectacular breakfast burrito. This thing is huge! Loaded with scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheddar cheese, chorizo, black beans, and a cilantro-charred salsa, Contempo’s breakfast burrito is fantastico! Try it the next time you head to Disney World. Hours of operation: Sunday-Saturday 6:00 am-12:00 am. For more information, call 407-939-3463.
Beto’s Mexican Food: Though Central Florida is no stranger to fantastic Mexican food, in some areas it can be a challenge to find a great burrito late at night. That’s no problem at all, though, because Beto’s is open 24 hours. Located at 7135 S. Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, Beto’s is a great place for a breakfast burrito. The portions are huge, and the prices are very reasonable. Their burritos are stuffed, so make sure you stop by on an empty stomach. And if you’re in a hurry, they have a convenient drive-thru. For more information, call 407-859-7030.
Qdoba Mexican Grill: You’re probably surprised by this choice, because Qdoba is not exactly a local joint. I chose their breakfast burrito for people who just want to dip their toes in the Mexican food experience before taking a giant plunge. This is a nice place to stop in for any meal of the day, and they’ve got a breakfast burrito that is delicioso! You can even customize it any way you want it.
