The fad of drive-in movie theaters in 2014 may not be like they once were, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have appeal; where else can you cheaply watch a recently released movie while bringing your own food and beverage, all from the comfort and coziness of your own vehicle?
The environment under the stars is truly remarkable, whether you have a date you are hoping to impress, or just want to have a memorable summer night with friends.
I once went to a drive-in theater and got stuck on the top of my friend’s vehicle because I was wearing a leg cast, which garnered me incredibly clumsy and without athleticism. Make memories at these Southern California drive-in movie theaters.
Van Buren Drive-In Theater
Located in Riverside, Van Buren Drive-In Theater is superb. The prices are affordable, especially for children between ages five and nine, who get in for a dollar; be aware that they only accept cash, however. The snack bar is tasty and the current movies offered here will make for a great summer get together. As is the case with a lot of things, the crowds tend to come out in waves on the weekends, so either arrive early or find a weekday night that works well for you and your group.

West Wind Santa Barbara Drive-In
Santa Barbara is beautiful in itself, add a night under the stars while a picture shows and you have yourself one great night. The drive-in is all digital now, but still offers extremely affordable prices, with kids five and under being free, as well as those between five and eleven getting in for a dollar. Pack up and head out to this drive-in.

Vineland Drive-In Movie Theater
This classic drive-in movie theater in Industry is pleasantly open seven days a week. The lines will be long on weekends, but there is plenty of space in the lots here. Like the above mentioned drive-in theaters, the Vineland has very affordable prices. There is no better way to see an up-to-date movie with the family at an affordable price. This drive-in does a good job of filling the void for the lack of drive-in movie theaters in Los Angeles, and we are sure happy it is here.
