As Harvey Levin’s social experiment just wrapped up week three, things are not looking too bright for the Artiaga family. For those of you who don’t know, the Artiaga family is the family that was chosen to come to Hollywood in an attempt to gain Kardashian-like fame. TMZ’s Levin is giving the family 12 weeks to get famous, but for some reason, they’re not pulling out all the stops.
Dad the DJ
This week, Harvey decided that it was time for Mike, the dad of the bunch, to get busy. He arranged a meeting with an entertainment giant who could possibly set up Mike with a gig as a DJ. All Mike had to do was convince a high-up executive that he was ready for the big time. Luckily, he brought his wife Angie along, who acts as the momager of the family. After Mike’s mumbling, she put in a good word for him, and eventually, he got a chance to play at “The Abbey” a popular gay club. Mike had to sport Speedos and didn’t look too shabby with abs fresh from the gym. With Jameelah and Taliah tagging along as his cheerleaders, Mike left a good impression, but whether he’ll get a regular gig is up in the air.
During a sisterly dinner, the girls ran into Johnathan Cheban, who’s Kim Kardashian’s best friend. They decided to pick his brain about what it takes to become famous. He gave the girls some pointers and took pics with them. Still makes you wonder whether this was set up by Harvey.
The Risqué Nightclub
Determined to step it up, Maariyah, Jameelah and Taliah decided to go out to a nightclub in the hopes of mingling with the rich and famous. They decided to sneak out of the house and then change into overly provocative (slutty) clothes that their parents would never approve of. When they got to the club, they felt quite overdressed, because the crowd was half naked. An even greater disappointment was that the girls didn’t feel like there were any celebrities around. They left disappointed, feeling like all their efforts were for nothing.
To stir the pot, Harvey posted a “Who’d You Rather” poll on the TMZ website. People could vote on their favorite girl, and once the results came in, Jameelah was not a happy camper. Maariyah got the most votes, followed by Jameelah and Taliah. Jameelah questioned why her sister got more vote, but anyone with clear vision can see that although none of the girls are ugly, the younger daughter is much prettier, both inside and out, compared to the older girls. Taliah didn’t let the poll define her, which showed her strong side. Jameelah took it to a whole other level, and threw tantrum after tantrum, which only made her less likable.
After the end of the third week, Harvey told the family that if they don’t step it up, they’ll be going home at the end of the 12 weeks. He told Jameelah to makeover her attitude, because she was under the impression that it was the Jameelah show. Her social media stats also showed that most people dislike her. Her sister Maariyah’s stats showed the complete opposite. Overall, the Artiagas have to bring it in week four, or else the future is looking grim for them. The family has to work together and spice things up.
