When people think trends, they usually think about their clothes, but makeup can be trendy just like your favorite fashion pieces. This spring, there are tons of amazing eyeshadow looks that are hitting the runway that every day girls can wear and feel fashionable. As a fashion and beauty expert, here is my guide to the summer and spring eyeshadow trends, how to wear them and where to get them.
Violet is all the rage in beauty from clothes, to lip color and to eye shadow too. Even though purples may not be a traditional color palette, they remind me a lot of the early 1990s when violets and purple were on trend. For cool skin tones, that means your veins on your wrist appear blueish, choose violets with more blue or pink so they compliment your natural skin undertones. Warm tones, or those with greenish veins on their wrists, should choose plum or jewel toned purples to compliment their skin tone. Blue is another eyeshadow trend that harkens back to the 1990s or even the 1970s glamor era. Girls with any color eyes make this trend look great, but gals with brown eyes should definitely try it out. Warmer skin tones should stick to aquas or blue greens that help their natural tones pop. Cooler tones should stick to true blues. Girls who are more fair, despite their undertone, should stick to saturated styles so they don’t look washed out. Bold and Bright
The biggest trend that covers almost any hue is bold and bright. Lipstick, clothes and accessories are all following the bright trend, and so is eyeshadow. Choose colors that compliment your tones and find the brightest hues possible. For cool tones, choose electric greens and blues to make your skin pop. Warmer tones can pick coral or even red eyeshadow. Wear with very simple face makeup and neutral color clothing to help make it the focus of your look. Metallic Earth Tones
If you’re not quite on board with vibrant hues, metallic shades in earth tones are also on trend this season. They’re easy to wear out for the evening or even to the office. Choose metallic shades that are only slightly shimmery, so they don’t give too much of an overly vibrant sheen. I like to wear military inspired colors, like khaki and olive green, because I have warmer skin tones. If you’re cooler, silver and even metallic white can make your eyes pop. Splurge: Too Faced Natural at Night Eyeshadow Palette Save: Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad in Sunlit Bronze
If you want to splurge on one eyeshadow palette that covers all the spring trends, check out the Lorac Summerglo Eyeshadow Palette. This palette contains blues, metallic naturals and violet in neutral tones that work for almost any skin type. Most importantly, don’t let the color trends scare you off. Test makeup swatches at the store before you buy, and remember that you can wash it off at any time. Makeup is an easy investment into trends because it’s not as expensive, so let yourself indulge in at least one of these eyeshadow trends for summer. You’ll fashionable and on trend, even if it’s just your eyes.
