Movies aren’t the only thing you’ll find at Rouman Cinema this April!
Sponsored by the Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe, an Egg Hunt for all ages will take place at the cinema (1205 Lincoln St, Rhinelander, Wis.), on April 12, 2014. Children under age 5 are admitted free of charge, otherwise it’s $8 per person. Arrive at any time between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (The egg hunt and prizes will take place only from 9 a.m. to noon.)
How did the tradition of Easter egg hunts begin anyway? According to Garden Guides, egg hunts are a time-honored tradition: “Easter Egg Hunting began in America when German immigrants brought their Osterhase tradition to Pennsylvania in the 1700s. The festivity soon spread across the nation, and baskets replaced nests. Eventually, the game evolved into a treasure hunt, and the prizes expanded from just hard-boiled eggs to include chocolate, candy, toys and coins. In many families, the Easter Bunny leaves a basket filled with gifts, not just eggs to find.”
Yes, the Easter Bunny will be clearing his busy schedule to visit the Egg Hunt, too. (Please note that photos with the Easter Bunny will require an extra fee.)
Besides the thrill of the hunt, the event promises movies (of course), prizes, games, face painting, crafts, food and a goodie bag. Local entertainer, David Dall, will be in attendance.
The admission price is a phenomenal value! The Egg Hunt flyer circulating on Rouman Cinema’s official website and Facebook page says that you’ll also receive a gift certificate for a future movie! (Normally, evening movie ticket prices here run $9 per adult, so you’re getting a movie ticket on top of all of the fun event activities scheduled for the Egg Hunt!)
While the actual dates/times the future movie ticket will be valid haven’t been specified in the event literature, you may be able to use it to catch these upcoming movies: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Transcendence, Heaven is for Real, or Rio 2. (These will be relatively new releases or films released shortly after that Egg Hunt weekend.)

Now, the only thing you have left to worry about is what outfit you’ll wear for your portrait with the Easter Bunny. Will you dare to dress up in a Captain America suit or just stick with the old jeans and t-shirt standby?
