Easter is a day and annual event that millions of people around the world celebrate in many different ways and there are thousands of people who have different beliefs about how and why Easter is celebrated.
Easter represents the Crucifixion, death, resurrection, and salvation plan of Jesus that was documented in the bible by those who lived before Jesus was born, and by those who lived after Jesus died, arose, and ascended into heaven.
Easter is not about the Easter bunny, hunting eggs, Easter baskets, new Easter clothes, or any other tradition that man has thought up to commercialize to promote and side track people of the real meaning of Easter and how Christians should celebrate it.
Most Americans celebrate Easter by going to church on Easter Sunday to thank God for giving his only son Jesus to be crucified and die on a cross to be resurrected on the third day for the sins of all humanity.
The act of love by God, and the willingness of Jesus to die for our sins, made it possible for all those who are sinners to confess that they are a sinner and need forgiveness, by usually saying a simple prayer.
John 3:16, reads as follows: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Example of a salvation prayer is given below.
Jesus, cleanse me of all my sins and unrighteousness, come into my heart, be my savior and Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit so he can lead, guide, and direct me every day.
According to the bible in 1 John 1:19, it says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Because of the sin in the Garden of Eden that put a separation between God and man, God and Jesus loved us so much, that God gave Jesus, Jesus was crucified, now we can be united in heaven if we will believe, confess, receive, and have faith that we will be with Jesus and make heaven our eternal home.
Happy Easter everyone, I hope I have explained the real meaning of Easter and hope that whoever reads this article will make Jesus their Lord and Savior.
