Sprucing up your fingernails for spring doesn’t require an expensive trip to the salon. You can get two pretty fingernail looks right at home at your kitchen table or bathroom counter. Both of these nail styles work great for an Easter egg hunt, party or any spring even you may have in mind. Take a trip to your local pharmacy to stock up on a variety of pastel nail polish colors first. This is also a great nail polish tutorial to share on a girls’ night in this spring. Women and kids will love these two sweet styles.
Easter Egg Nail Tutorial
This soft, egg-inspired nail tutorial is so easy to copy. You need five different pastel nail colors like pink, yellow, green, purple and blue. Paint each fingernail a different color. I suggest using two coats of polish for a brighter, more noticeable finish. Use a nail polish dotter or toothpick to add dots to the surface of the nail. Space the dots around and allow them to dry before you touch them. Mix up the color combination-for example, put purple dots on top of a pink shade. Finish with a clear top coat. This will slow down the potential for nail chipping.
Hatching Chick Nail Tutorial
How easy is this tutorial? Super easy! All you have to do is paint your smooth, filed nails with bright yellow nail polish. Your fingernails will look like ten baby chicks. You also need white, black and orange nail polish. Pick one or two fingernails on each hand to look like breaking eggs. Paint the top and bottom, like an egg shell using white nail polish on the nails you selected. The best way to do this is to paint to half moons at the top and bottom of the fingernails. Carefully paint on triangles at the inside curves; it should look like a breaking egg. Use a toothpick to dot on black eyes and orange beaks.
If you really want to jazz up the hatching nails, apply clear glitter to one or two of the plain yellow nails. (Glitter goes with everything!) Keep a fingernail polish correcting pen handy when working on your nails. This handy tool can remove a streak or dot in just a second! Much handier than starting over completely.
