Ironstone Vineyards Easter Brunch: Located in the heart of Murphys, Ironstone Vineyards hosts an annual Easter Brunch in their beautiful winery located just 1/2 a mile from town. Whether you are wine tasting, tulip and daffodil smelling or egg hunting, Kautz has it all. Brunch is at 10:30 or 1 p.m. and reservations are a must. The Murphys Lions club is also offering a free Easter Egg hunt at 11:30 on the Ironstone Vineyard Grounds.

Bear Valley Mountain Resort- Just 30 minutes up the mountain in Alpine County, Bear Valley Ski resort will host Easter events at 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday. An Easter bag decorating in the Cub Clubhouse, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 a.m. by Koala Chair lift near the outside sun deck. For $5 you can enjoy an ice cream social from 1 to 4 p.m. in the sun room next to Tamarack Deli.

Historic Railtown 1897 State Park in Jamestown- The park opens for the season the weekend before Easter, commencing the operations of the museum and Steam Train for the 2014 season. Train rides leave on the hour starting at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. all weekend including roundhouse tours and music. The Saturday before Easter, a special wildflower train departs at 4:30 with accompanying naturalists who will point out and discuss all the different types of wildflowers special to the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Reservations for the wonderful Easter wildflower viewing on the train are suggested.

Columbia State Historic Park- With a weekend of fun planned, Columbia State Historic Park is an old gold rush town with lots of charm and is a perfect place to spend an Easter weekend. Saturday, April 19th, the 35th annual Old Mill Run is a 5k and 10k run which starts in the heart of town at 8 a.m. Easter Sunday, an Old-fashioned parade and egg hunt happens right in downtown Columbia.
