Hot tubs need to be cleaned out often and if you don’t have a pool man you need to do it yourself. As you use a hot tub it can get grimy and the water can start to look thick. Then it is time to clean your hot tub.
The chemicals in your hot tub need to be refilled as they are used by your hot tub. Your manual and experience with your hot tub will help you know when it is time to refill the chemicals and clean the filter.
There is more to cleaning your hot tub then changing the water, refilling the chemicals and cleaning the filter. You need to clean the sides, jets, sides and cover.
A dirty film forms on the inside of your hot tub as you use it. This film needs to be cleaned every so often. I clean the inside of my hot tub when I change the water but you may need to clean it more depending on the brand of hot tub and the use it gets.
When the water is drained from the tub take a soft wet cloth and wipe down the inside. You need to wipe everything like the floors seats and the jet openings. All surfaces need to be wiped up and cleaned. You may need more then one cloth. I do not like to use soap or cleaners because you need to rinse them and a good scrub with elbow grease does just fine. Make sure you get the filter area as you wipe everything down. You need to clean up the inside and outside of the filter area.
You also need to clean the hot tub cover. Inside and out will need to be clean. You can just wipe it all down with a soft wet cloth or you can hose it down. If you use a soap be sure to rinse it all well so you don’t get a soapy hot tub.
The outside of your hot tub also needs a wipe down. It collects dust and dirt and needs to be wiped or hosed off if it is not too dirty. The compartment with all the mechanisms may need to be vacuumed out especially if you have an outdoor hot tub that spiders and other critters can go into.
The cleaner your hot tub is when you fill it with water the cleaner it will stay and the longer it will be clean.
