DIY, or ‘Do it Yourself’, has become a popular pin on Pinterest and other social outlets. The spa is expensive. So, if you don’t want to spend a ton on a spa visit, there are other ways to achieve beautiful, glowing skin at home. It’s probably easier than you think.
Favorite DIY Peel-off Mask:
Peel-off masks can be a great way to eliminate blackheads and make appear smaller. These types of face masks can be purchased at stores like Wal-Mart & Rite Aid, but creating your own has the same effect and perhaps can be even more effective on certain skin types. For this mask, you’ll need 1/4 Cup of Milk, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of warmed honey. Mix all of the ingredients together and allow them to cool in the fridge for about fifteen minutes. Apply to your face and allow to sit there for around a half hour then peel it off.
Anti- Redness Face Mask:
Sometimes our faces can have red blotches, usually around the nose and sometimes on the cheeks. Avoiding this redness is simple and brings me to the easier DIY face mask I’ve ever tried. All you need is egg yolk and Lemon Juice. Mix the two ingredients together, apply to your face and allow to sit for about twenty minutes before washing off. This will remove the redness from you face and give you a clear, glowing complexion.
Mask for Acne-Prone Skin:
Acne is a large problem for a lot of people. It can cause feelings of insecurities and, if picked can cause permanent scaring on your face. I’ve known a couple of people who have said that this face mask has completely cured their skin of break-outs. All you’ll need is 1/2 a cucumber, 2 tablespoons of ground oatmeal, lemon juice, and honey. Mix it all together and apply to face. Allow it to sit on face for fifteen to twenty minutes before washing away.
Blackhead eliminating Face Mask:
I personally use this face mask once a week and have found that it has transformed my skin. My pores look smaller and there isn’t a single blackhead on my face. All you need is baking soda and lemon juice. Combine together until you get a paste, then apply it to your face using tiny, circular motions. Allow it to sit for around twenty minutes. You’re skin may tingle a bit, I believe this is because the baking soda is cleaning out the pores. Wash it away, again using small, circular motions to provide extra exfoliation while rinsing.
Hydrating Face Mask:
If you have dry skin, this is the perfect DIY face mask to try and it’s simple. You’ll need 1 avocado, 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 egg white. Mix everything together to make a paste then apply to face. Allow it to sit on the skin until it’s dry then rinse away to reveal, hydrated, radiant skin.
This mask is ideal for people with generally oily skin. You will need 1 teaspoon grapefruit juice, 1 teaspoon sour cream and 1 egg white. Beat the egg until it’s fluffy, then add the sour cream, then the grapefruit juice. Mix together well and apply to skin. Allow it to sit for about twenty minutes then rinse away. You’ll notice that you’re oily skin is cured!
Any one of these masks have great benefits for the skin and making them yourself is a whole lot cheaper than going to a spa, or purchasing expensive face masks that probably contain the same type of ingredients I’ve mentioned here. DIY beauty is sweeping the nation and the information about the benefits of average ingredients most of us have in our kitchens should be readily available to everyone. Relax and enjoy you’re own private spa day.
