People crave the presence of others, they want to be loved and appreciated, but sometimes they may not be aware of this need. We may spend years focusing on a job or on creating a thriving business, and then, one day, we are hit by the realization that we need love more than anything else. This is the case of Evan Knight, one of the main characters in Reana Malori’s novel, “What Matters Most (Hero’s Crossing).”
This romance novel tells a twofold story: on one hand, that of a man who has dedicated his life to the Marine Corps, always putting his duties before his needs; and on the other hand, that of a single mother who wishes she could do and be more for herself and for her son. However, Major Evan Knight’s life changes completely after a little boy starts sending him letters. The boy is Sierra Walker’s nine year old son who has to do a school project, part of which is to communicate with Evan.
Not only does Evan Knight’s life change at 180 degrees, but also that of Sierra. After meeting Evan, the two of them slowly get to know each other, and they eventually realize that they have feelings for each other, and that they were meant to meet and to be together. The novel follows their relationship from its shy, gentle beginning up to the point where it gets passionate and full of eroticism.
“What Matter Most (Hero’s Crossing)” is a beautifully written romance novel, whose story is bound to warm your heart. The relationship between Evan and Sierra progresses at a slow pace, depicting an image of blooming love. For more information on Reana Malori and her other works, you may visit her site.
