If you are trying to cast certain spells, possibly with the focal aid of a candle, you can also add power to your spell by casting it during the appropriate moon phase. I have personally used the different phases and found them to be very useful. For one thing, the moon serves as a focal point for the things that come and go in your life and since it returns, it serves as a reminder of the details of each spell you cast. Here are the different moon phases and how they are used in magic.
New Moon: This is a time for reflection on the past. Find out where you are at in your spiritual journey during a new moon.
Waxing Moon: When the moon is waxing, or growing to a full moon, people use this phase to help them gain things. As the moon gets bigger, it brings the desired goal into the person’s life. New projects should be started when the moon has just started the waxing phase.
Full Moon: The full moon has been used for many things. Some of these spells include a time for psychic activity, scrying and divination (looking into the future), or astral projection. The full moon is believed to be a very powerful aid in a magic spell. Use a full moon when you want a totally new situation in your life, money, a relationship, or the attainment of new knowledge.
Waning Moon: Use the waxing moon when you want to banish something or get rid of something or someone in your life. This is the time to cut negative magnetic bonds with certain people, habits, or situations. As the moon wains, or becomes less visible, it takes with it whatever intention that you wish to rid your life of.
