I sought peace among the arid desolate places where the eagle, coyote and the wild horse runs.
I felt the breath of God hot upon my neck as I placed one foot before another.
I saw skies that dripped blood into the stars, stars that turned the night into crystal castles.
Peace came among the vultures who feasted upon my still warm flesh and the coyotes who scavenged my bones for their young.
I became scattered amongst the scrub brush and rolling hills.
The wind and sun polishing my bones as white as pure driven snow, sinless as Adam the day he was created.
My peace became final as all traces of my being were absorbed by the desert floor.
