I love date night any night of the week, and I love going with anyone who’s special to me–my boyfriend, a close friend, a long-time colleague visiting Denver, my sister… Check out these top restaurant picks for your next date night in Denver. The food and cozy atmospheres will give you the perfect reason to go out with someone you love.
1. Fruition on 6th Avenue
This quaint, cozy place near Denver’s Country Club neighborhood offers some of the most unique flavor combinations in the city. Prided by the use of local, high-quality ingredients from their Colorado farm, the staff feels like family and serves up simple, memorable cuisine you’ll rave about until your next visit. Here are the must-haves: pasta carbonara and the potato-wrapped oysters. Both are principal small plates among a seasonally changing menu. Make a reservation far in advance so you don’t miss out on Fruition.
2. Trattoria Stella (Highlands Square, multiple locations)
This is another comfy pick ideal for date night out. The exposed brick makes the whole dining experience feel rustic and homey. They always have a featured special, but the truffle asparagus spaghetti and 32nd street pasta are to die for. Save room for dessert, they’re all homemade and worth the splurge.
3. Park & Co in Uptown
Grab a couple seats at the bar and order a local brew to chat over. Park & Co has a prime outdoor seating area for people-watching down 17th Street. You’ll have a hard time picking the wrong burger here. The Scarpone is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. If you want to split a couple sandwiches, my second pick would be the blackened chicken sandwich. Add a side of fries and it will make for one of the best date night meals!
4. The Plimoth
This charming new restaurant in Denver is located near City Park, just a couple of blocks east of York on 28th. It’s a very cozy atmosphere with a small open kitchen in the back. The low lighting makes this place very romantic, yet still casual. If you don’t have a reservation, you can likely find a seat at one of the bars. Try to sit at the bar along the front window. The menu will change seasonally, but the staff is very knowledgeable and will not misguide your taste preferences.
5. Izakaya Den on South Pearl
Izakaya Den was recently remodeled and the rooftop is worth a date night! In the warmer months, the roof will be open. Grab a seat at the bar or at one of the tables. They still feature all of their delicious sushi, Japanese dishes and small plates perfect for sharing.
