We’ve all been there–hangover days are the worst. Trying to gulp down electrolytes and coconut water works half the time. Crackers and chicken soup help some of the time. Maybe all you want is some junk food and sips of whatever did you in the night before. If you’re hungover in Denver, here are the city’s best plates to help you out of it!
Steuben’s, gravy fries
You can’t go wrong with a large plate of freshly made fries smothered in gravy, cheese and bacon bits. This plate will pull you right out of your hangover. Add a bloody mary or a Little Kings cream ale. They have plenty of other homestyle brunch goods.
Bull and Bush, The “Cure”
If you live in Glendale, this is probably your go-to spot. They feature plenty of delicious brunch options, but the “Cure” meal takes top place. Hashbrowns with sausage and eggs all smothered in green chili and cheese. Yum!
The Lobby, Chicken Fried Biscuits and Gravy
They have a whole section of their menu dedicated to tater tots, but the plate to have for a hangover kick is their chicken fried biscuits and gravy. It comes with chicken or steak, a biscuit, mashed potatoes and tots all smothered in gravy. Add a little hot sauce, and you’re there.
Root Down, pulled pork omelet
It’s hard to go wrong when you order brunch at Root Down, but their pulled pork omelet is amazing! It’s a little spicy with the pickled habaneros, but worth it. Add the pastry duo for your bread fix and you’ll be feeling better in no time.
Snooze, sweet potato pancakes
Be prepared to wait in line, but their hotcakes are worth it! Order their famous sweet potato pancakes or the pancake flight, which changes daily. They have plenty of savory breakfast options and a notable grilled cheese sandwich if that fits your fancy.
Star Kitchen, dim sum
This is truly a star when it comes to dim sum and dumplings. I can’t say enough yummy things about all they have to offer. Grab a table early and enjoy their creations as they bring carts around to serve you.
