Ever since the Dallas Mavericks won the 2011 championship, they haven’t been the same. Now to make the 2014 play-offs, they have to keep winning, and hope they keep the 8th seed in the tough western conference. Seeds 5-9 could change at any moment because those seeds can’t afford to lose. Dallas has some tough games coming up with at least 5 teams above .500.
The teams above .500 that the Mavericks have to face are the Warriors, Clippers, Spurs, Phoenix, and Memphis. I see two losses coming from the Clippers, and the Spurs. The rest of those teams will put up good fights against Dallas especially the Warriors, but if those teams lose; Dallas should be in the playoffs.
My predictions are that if Dallas clinches the 8th spot, I believe that whoever faces them won’t have an easy ride. Dallas is one of those teams that can put up at least 100 points-per game, and if it’s the Spurs in the first seed. Then it’s going to be a great series between two of the best Power-forwards of all time in Dirk Nowitzki, and Tim Duncan.
