Could there be a turn around in Indian politics ?
WILL AAP BE A FLOP?
AAM AADMI PARTY (AAP),meaning a party of Common Men with Head Quarters in New Delhi generated hopes in the minds of Indian people who were fed up with the present political system ridden with poor performance and blatant Scams and corruption . A scam a day is the order of the day with the present government. Corruption is not an exception.
The birth of AAP in the backdrop of the series of agitations by Anna Hazare to bring in an effective legslitation to address corruption issues and make the government of the day accountable for services to its citizens in a time bound manner; raised a ray of hopes in the beleaguered Indian population. No doubt people were wary of the success of AAP; having seen such experiments and talks in the past like those of the New Dravidian Party formed by the then Popular Tamil Cine actor, the Janatha Dal formed immediately after the emergency regime of the late Indira Gandhi and so on.
But hope is the only way that we can carry on with our lives and the high pitch made by AAP with the electronic media grabbing and magnifying it really made the common women and men into believing there would be some relief from the present political evils.
Though fingers were pointed even in the initial stages against sources of funds of the AAP and against certain active members of the party, including ARVIND KEJRIWAL,the leader of the Party, it was tended to be ignored not because it lacked substance, but people thought it all were petty compared to billions of rupees involved in corruption and black money in the country.
But the AAM AADMI Party’s coats are flying away one by one, day by day and people are afraid whether it will stand stripped of its dress wholly one day.
With the winning of the unexpected number of 28 seats out of the 70 seats in Delhi assembly elections in the recent past; heavy weights stood in Q to join AAP.
AAP has become a Laissez fair. Everyone in AAP has become a BAAP, meaning every one in the party behaved like a father figure. Promises have been made by the Party in the recent Delhi Assembly Elections without any serious thought to the issues. The roof top talk that AAP’s party members are not power hungry, but hungry to serve the Nation got stripped on day one when the Delhi Government was formed BY AAP and its MLA Vinod Kumar Binny came out in open to revolt and accuse ARVIND KEJRIWAL ostensibly having denied a Minister’s Post.
ARVIND KEJRIWAL who promised repeatedly and also took a promise publicly in the name of his children that his party will not form the Government in Delhi with the support of Indian National Congress took a complete ‘U’ turn and found a novel way as an escape route under the guise of the so called People’s choice which is an eyewash. It further dented the hopes of AAM people( read as CommonPersons) in AAP.
The street drama played by his then Law Minister of Delhi with regards to drug trafficking and prostitution in a New Delhi area and the abusive language used by him on public platforms against well known individuals left the people wondering whether they landed in the soup by believing in AAP.
In order to exist from the Delhi Government as fast as possible so as to face the Lok Sabha elections (the Ongoing Parliament elections), ARVIND KEJRIWAL played the trick that he and his Government in Delhi is resigning as the Indian National Congress is not Supporting the Bill to tackle the Corruption.
The Openly declared Guru Anna Hazare of ARVIND KEJRIWAL have further dented the AAP and Arvind’s image in the public view, though sometimes unfairly. The recent exodus from the AA Party’s membership of the founder members have only added to the dust that accumulated in the AAP’s the Broomstick, the party’s symbol.
While AAP accuse other parties of giving tickets to People who are facing criminal cases, the ticket given by AAP to Udayakumar to stand in Lok Sabha elections from Kanya Kumari in the extreme south exposes AAP’s weakness in holding to its principles.
KEJRIWAL’s policy seems to be to just walk and talk, no matter how people take it. He is thus more suited for Public Meetings to arouse crowds rather than for the serious of business of running the government. One wonders whether KEJRIWAL is a Serious Person meaning business or a Joker entertaining people by hopping from one issue to another back and forth.
People like yogendra Yadav may be a better substitute for Kejriwal when it comes to the government business.
Perhaps ARVIND IS the only person knowing English who talks in Hindi in English, News Channels showing his craziness to Hindi which is by any means will not win him hearts from the Middle class especially from Southern part.
Whether AAP will be a flop and people have to sweep AAP with its own broom stick, only time will tell.
But it will be a great tragedy for the India if AAP flops with or without opponent parties’ coup.
The wiser persons in the AAP party should after the Lok Sabha elections should pause and proceed in the right direction.
AAP should take some tutoring in making less noise and doing more work on the ground.
