Cotton candy is a great treat to have at a carnival, circus or fair. It is also good as a treat at home. I have seen cotton candy sold on a stick at fairs and carnivals. I have also seen cotton candy for sale in plastic bags and containers. How do you like your cotton candy?
I prefer mine fresh from the cotton candy maker and placed neatly on a stick in a wound up fashion. You can choose what flavor you want when it is on the stick and you only have to have the one flavor. It is not a mixture of different flavors when it comes on a stick. It is fluffier and far fresher then any other method. But can sugar really get stale? When it is cotton candy it can get flat and develop drops of liquid on parts of the candy. Then it is not good to eat.
Cotton candy can be sold in plastic tubs with tight covers on them. I like this type of cotton candy too. It is not as fresh and it is not fluffy as much as the kind on a stick. But it is tasty and comes in a variety of flavors or are they just colors? I have seen pink, white and blue cotton candy for sale and sold in plastic tubs, bags and on a stick. A lot of cotton candy can be stuffed in a tub so you can get different flavors that you can share with a friend.
Cotton candy in a plastic bag is not as good as the other two options. The bag does not hold as much as the tub and it can get squished before you ever buy it. If it lands on the floor it can get damaged and not as much fun to eat.
The only reason you eat cotton candy is for the fun of it. There is no good nutrition in cotton candy but its tasty flavor and texture make it a fun snack especially in the summer.
I remember going to the fair as a child and my parents would buy me a cotton candy on a stick. It was great to walk around and look at all the activity with the cotton candy there to eat. It is a special treat that you can not make from scratch unless you have a cotton candy machine.
