St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner. As many people will be hosting fun events, the obvious question is what to wear? The main part of the decision will be based on the type of party or event that you will attend. So get ready to get your green on.
Sometimes the best way to go to an event is just to be casual in order to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Many retail stores have St. Patrick’s Day themed t-shirts out on the racks. These shirts are quite reasonable in price; some are even under $5. There are always accessories to spice up the t-shirt.
Bell of the Ball
One of the best things about making a custom for St. Patrick’s Day is just to have fun with the outfits. Local thrift stores have used wedding dresses or other formal dresses that are usually sold at a reasonable price. These dresses can be taken home and dyed green. The different textures, beading and fabric will come out different shades of green. Or if you want to splurge go to a local dress shop and pick up a green formal.
Green Tuxedo or Suit
An all green tuxedo can be worn as a costume as well. The green tuxedo will definitely draw attention as you enter the party.
What would St. Patrick’s Day be without a leprechaun? Black short pants, green waist coat, white ruffled shirt, black bow tie and a black hat. Also, you may want to add black shoes with white and green pull up socks. These items can be purchased new or I would check out your local thrift store to see if you can put an outfit together at a cheaper cost.
Just Add Accessories
Take a black outfit or even that little black dress, and add accessories. Pick up a green feathered boa, green shoes, green beads, and don’t forget the shamrocks. Adding pinned shamrocks or a top hat with a green shamrock on the side will definitely add to the outfit. There are shamrock or rainbow earrings, green glasses, green and white tights, green socks, green nail polish and more. The added accessories can make the outfit fun but at the same time within a budget. Also with a little creativity accessories could be made from green poster board and lots of green glitter.
No matter the outfit you pick, have fun. St. Patrick’s Day is only once a year.
