Do you find yourself asking “Where is there a good burger restaurant near me?” My husband and I were hungry for hamburgers. We had been trying different location in the downtown Fort Worth Sundance Square area. This time we decided to try the restaurant Jake’s on Main Street. With nearly thirty years of business under their belt, we thought that Jake’s would know a little something about burgers.
The atmosphere inside of Jake’s is nice during lunch time. There is a large bar surrounded by tables and a second level for more guests. Jake’s is definitely decorated in a sports motif. The restaurant gets extra points for offering accessibility to people who are in wheelchairs, walkers, an on crutches.
My husband ordered Jake’s Mushroom Swiss Melt and I ordered Jake’s Avocado Chedder Melt. Both burgers were done pretty well and came with fresh condiments. Though I did have to send my burger back to the kitchen for being a little too rare. In truth the waitress never asked how we wanted our burgers. I was pleased once I got the burger back from the kitchen.
What really made the meal at Jake’s were the french fries. Jakes french fries were the kind that still had the skin on them. They were fried to a golden brown. It seems that Jake’s french fries are shaken with salt and a little Cajun powder.
The only disappointment with Jake’s menu were the size of the shakes. I was expecting an old fashion shake served in the silver metal blending cups. What my husband and I were served were two shakes in a child size drink cup. A serious let down for anyone who is craving an old fashion shake.
Would I recommend the restaurant to friends and family members? Let me warn you about ordering high priced drinks, it may not be worth the cost. The two burgers were great. My husband and I look forward to returning to try other menu items. Even if most of it seemed to be from the frozen section.
