We are all trying to move from the current area that we are staying in, and there are many different things to consider before making the move.
In this article, I will teach you all about choosing a perfect home. To be very specific, I will teach you how to choose a great overall area to move to. So what is the first thing that we should look for in choosing a good place to live?
First of all, what can you afford? This is the number one thing that you should look for in moving to another area. You do not want to move far away and find yourself homeless. I have never had this experience, but I can imagine that it is unbearable. You will also want to choose a place where the gas prices and taxes are fair. In this economy, there is no cheap gas and tax so we will have to settle for “fair,” unless you live in Mexico where gas is $0.52 a gallon. Where I live, gas is reasonable. This is in North Carolina, but I have seen cheaper. You will want to live comfortably. By that I mean room to spend you money freely. You need money to pay your bills, necessities, and some for hard times. You know, just in case your car breaks down and you have to put it in the repair shop.
Speaking of money, let’s talk about employment. You will need to choose an area where you think you have a good chance of employment. In these times, it may sound crazy, but a place where there is a vast amount of jobs. You also may want to look at your career field or expertise. Look for areas where your expertise is popular. For example, plumbers and electricians are needed everywhere, On the other hand if you were a professional banana grower, you might want to try another country. Keep this in mind because you don’t want to relocate for the simple fact that you can not find a job. In fact it is wise to try to seek employment before you actually move. So when you do move you will not have to worry about finding a job. Also the incomes in different states vary. Some are very high and some are low. A better phrase to say is “the cost of living”. Where I stay it is okay. I remember one time taking a trip to Atlanta, Georgia and the price of a soda from a vending machine was four dollars! A good way that I have learned to check the cost of living is to check the prices on tobacco. In the state of North Carolina a pack of Newport’s is around $5. In New York. the price is about $13. That is way too much!
You will also want to check on the crime rates in the neighborhood you are moving to. You can find these records at the local police department for that area or searching the web for that particular area’s crime rates. Do they have a lot of crime? If they do I highly suggest that you don’t move there. Especially if you have kids. You will want to move to a place where there is very little crime. Also when you look at crime rates, do not look a weekly or monthly reports. Instead look at anywhere from a year to a decade. This way you can kind of predict the future crime rates. A weekly to monthly report will not have enough information to make a prediction.
Another thing to look at while moving is do you have family that you are really close to? Do you spend a lot of holidays with your family? I want to move far away from the country but I do not want to move far away from my family. I spend every holiday with my family. So when you choose a spot to move try to be 2 hours or less from your friends and relative. You never know when there might be a life or death emergency.
I hope that this article has helped you. Good luck in finding a new place to move.
