Earth Day is an event held annually on April 22 that celebrates our home, Earth, and supports protection of the environment. Many people are aware of Earth Day, but there are some things that aren’t commonly known.

On average, a single individual throws away 4 pounds of garbage daily.

50 million households could be heated for 20 years just by the amount of paper and wood thrown away annually.

The amount of aluminum thrown away each year it enough to rebuild the U.S. commercial air fleet four times.
