Memorial Day is no exception to this rule; whether you are in North or South Louisiana we have something to offer you. Gonzales Civic Center and surrounding grounds
Entry fee $20 per day or $55 for weekend pass
This annual event held in downtown Gonzales, La, has been popular with locals and visitors since 1967. The festival includes activities such as carnival rides, cooking contests, live music and of course the star of this festival, World Champion Jambalaya! Bayou Country Superfest

Tickets range from $35-$250. The festivities continue in the capital city with the fifth annual Bayou Country Superfest Concert. If you are a country music lover this event is for you. New Orleans Wine and Food Experience

Celebrate Memorial Day by enjoying the quality experience of the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience. Featured events include a wine and food tasting, a Louisiana Seafood Cook-off, and wine dinners at various restaurants in the city. There will also be seminars from various wine experts for you wine connoisseurs. Money raised from this elegant affair goes to support the city’s non profit organizations. South Louisiana is not the only part of Louisiana that knows how to party. Up north in Shreveport we celebrate unique Cajun cuisine using crawfish, or mudbugs as we sometimes call them, as the star ingredient. Don’t mistake this for just a big crawfish boil, there will be local bands, Cajun Zydeco contests, and tons of activities for the kids. Memorial Day at the Museum

U. S. Freedom Pavilion: The Boeing Center New Orleans, LA
Prefer a more traditional Memorial Day celebration? Visit New Orleans’ World War II Museum to honor those who have given their life for our country and our freedom. Hear personal stories about some of the men and women that made the ultimate sacrifice. The exhibit features World War II relics including a a restored B-17 E Flying Fortress, and an interactive submarine experience. There will also be a performance by the Marine Corps Quintet.
