With summer coming up, people and their families are looking for places to swim and have fun with their families and friends. When you’re from a small town like Campbellsville, Kentucky, you have to travel short distances to find water parks. There are several parks in the surrounding area that are only a short distance away.
- Somersplash: The closest water park to Campbellsville, Kentucky is Somersplash. Located in Somerset, Kentucky, you will arrive at the park in about an hour. In the park is a large wave pool, a lazy river, and several large tube slides, as well as a speed slide. It offers several admission options. For example, if you want to ride every ride there, you’ll want the ‘ride n slide’ option, which is $14.95. However, if you bring someone who doesn’t want to ride any of the slides, they would probably choose the ‘half splash’ option, for $12.95. Children who are 2 years old and younger are admitted for free. Also, all admissions are half price after 4 pm. Weekday hours are 10 am- 7 pm. Weekend hours are 1 pm- 7 pm.
- Beech Bend Park: The second closest park to Campbellsville is Beech Bend. It is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which is about an hour and a half away from Campbellsville. This park is not only a water park, but also an amusement park. The water park is divided into areas. The Surfs Up wave pool features 8 different wave patterns. Tiki island is a small area that seems to be mostly designed for kids, complete with a bucket that dumps water after certain amounts of times and seven different slides. There is also a lazy river that runs through the Surfs Up wave pool. There is another children’s area called “Lotta Wotta Island.” The most exciting area seems to be the Ragin’ Rapids water slides, with three different water slides that begin at 45 feet tall and are all longer than 400 feet. If you are wanting to relax, the park boasts about having the largest leisure pool in the southeast. The hours of the park vary by season, so you should check out the website to find out when you should go. The admission price for adults is $31.99, while children’s and senior tickets tickets are $27.99.
- Paradise Cove: The last water park that I am going to talk about is Paradise Cove. It is located in Richmond, Kentucky, which is about an hour and 45 minutes away from Campbellsville. The park is not as flashy as Beech Bend or Somersplash, but it still looks like a lot of fun. It contains an 8 lane lap pool, a play pool with four slides, two slides that are 40 feet tall, and a colorful slide for children. Admission for adults is $7, Youth $5, and children $4. Park hours are 4 pm to 7pm Monday through Friday, 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, and 1 pm to 6 pm on Sunday.
This is not a full list of water parks in Kentucky. I tried to pick the three closest to the Campbellsville area. I have been to Somersplash and Beech Bend, and both are very fun, and the reviews for Paradise Cove make it seem very promising as well. I hope this list is helpful in deciding what water park to take your family to this summer.
