Being an entitled member of the plutocracy, the man in the front pew took the call during Mass.
The celebrant and congregation stopped praying as Jesus had taught them and directed their attention to the nattily attired gentleman in the front pew.
Ignoring them all, he took the call.
It was from God.
And the Almighty was not happy.
Not in the least.
And so what began as a Mass in Lent, ended a few days later as a Mass of Christian Burial for a sinner who had foolishly thought he could thread the proverbial needle.
