Bourbon Brothers Southern Kitchen is expanding. The inaugural restaurant has been opened for several months in Colorado Springs and they are fine tuning the menu. Whereas they had separate day and evening menus for awhile, they saw the wisdom in combining them. Within a short time, you will be able to see dirt being moved in South Denver near the new Cabela’s as well as the Bass Pro Shops in Loveland and Thornton, Colorado.
My favorite thing to order is the Catfish Po-boy. In the past, I ordered hush puppies with it but in tweaking the menu they have taken the hush puppies off. However, I am on a personal crusade to try and get the hush puppies back on the menu. To me it’s logical to have hush puppies with a catfish sandwich. But, their waffle fries are pretty darned good. They have also added fried okra to the menu which is served with a special sauce. Next time I visit, I am planning on trying the smoked brisket sandwich. In checking my facts for this article, I just noticed banana pudding…that’s definitely on my list for next visit.
A unique aspect of the restaurant chain is the Bourbon Room. As long as a person doesn’t get intoxicated, I think the Bourbon Room is a great concept. Right outside the Bourbon Room is a patio with fire pit and furniture for enjoying a cigar while nursing the bourbon. I can’t wait to try that once the weather gets a little warmer. I don’t think they have cigars yet, so bring your own.
I believe Bourbon Brothers Southern Kitchen is going to be a great restaurant chain. I am such a believer I have bought some stock in the company and encourage you to consider doing the same. The stock trades under the symbol ‘RIBS’ which I grin a little every time I think of the symbol. They are aiming to have 40 restaurants in 60 months. Anyone have a light for my cigar?
