Bikers are giving the Obama administration the middle finger. If he won’t step up and help a veteran jailed in Mexico, “then we will.”
John Harrington, founder of Shield Tactical, is leading a charge to go and help SGT Andrew Tahmooressi who has been held in a Mexican jail since March 31, 2014. He is being held on weapons charges after accidentally crossing the border while having guns in his vehicle. He faces 20 years in prison.
“Obama said he doesn’t leave anyone behind,” John Harrington continued. “He doesn’t leave traitors behind.” But the President “left four behind in Benghazi and he’s leaving our man behind here.”
Although John Harrington is not a veteran himself, he still cares about what happens to them. “Someone has to stand up for these guys,” he says. So he has organized a ride for bikers to go to the border and show their solidarity with SGT Tahmooressi. They are hoping to bring attention to the issue and force some political action.
The bikers travelled to Tombstone, AZ and are on their way to meet up with more biker groups. In a video posted at GMN’s YouTube page, Harrington confirmed that he was on his way to meet with the group “Riders USA.” The group “2 Million Bikers to DC” has also been supporting the effort, posting updates at their Facebook page.
John Harrington has stopped in San Diego, CA (4645 Morena BLVD
San Diego, CA 92117) and is urging as many people as possible to come join him. Skateboards, cars, bikes, whatever. He wants you there. They will be there for a while planning and will make announcements at this Harley Davidson Dealership. They are currently drafting a proclamation to be delivered to Mexico when they cross the border.
“Calling ALL Patriots! You asked for time to get to us and we listened. We have 19 days to get to San Diego Harley Davidson 4645 Morena BLVD, San Diego, CA 92117
Saturday, July 5th we RIDE to Mexico from San Diego. It is up to our State Daprtment and the Mexican Gvt do determine the nature of said ride. We can celebrate the release of OUR Marine OR we can protest. It’s up to them.”

Things have gotten complicated for the SGT as his first lawyer was fired and rumors are flying that the second one has left. Good lawyers, that aren’t corrupt, are hard to find in Mexico and are generally very expensive.
SGT Tahmooressi’s treatment has been suspect while in prison. After trying to escape, he endured harsh treatment. He was finally moved to a safer prison but wants to be freed as soon as possible. As if being in prison wasn’t enough, the SGT is having trouble with his PTSD while being imprisoned.
The SGT has deployed to Afghanistan twice and all of the Soldiers in his unit vouch for him.
A petition has been started to demand his release and force the Obama administration to deal with the issue. So far, the administration has ignored such demands.
