When you imagine everything that Houston has to offer, the average person doesn’t think of Sake bars as one of them. If you are not sure what a Sake bar is exactly, I will give you an idea. Sake is a Japanese alcoholic beverage, usually made from fermented rice. If you are in Houston and want to try something fun, new, and exciting Sake bars are a great way to achieve that goal. In this article I will be letting you in on some hot Sake bars in the Houston area.
RA Sushi Bar made the top of my list because of its great atmosphere. RA is perfect for grabbing some of their delicious sushi, and then hitting the bar for some outstanding Sake. This place has some of the highest ratings in Houston and it is definitely worth visiting. Food services end at midnight, and the bar is open until 1 am or later depending on demand. This place is known for its reverse happy hour that begins at 10 pm. Another great thing about RA is that there are two locations in Houston. There is one at Highland Village across from Central Market. The other is at City Centre. Both locations are stunning, and provide a lot parking, you will not be disappointed.
Masa Sushi Japanese Sake Bar is a great choice for those who don’t want to drive downtown to enjoy some great Sake. The locals rave about the music and mimosas that are provided for free every Sunday at lunch time. Masa Sushi is located in the Texas City and Dickinson area. The Bar is open late night until 2 am on Friday and Saturday. They do provide a parking lot which seems to be full almost every weekend, so get there early!
Sake Lounge in Houston also makes the list. This lounge has an absolutely beautiful atmosphere; they make you feel like you are in the middle of Japan, in one of their most popular Sake bars. Street parking is made available for this downtown hot spot. The bar is open until 1 am or later on weekends. The drinks at the Sake Lounge are some of the best in downtown Houston. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, especially to new comers.
The Blue Fish is last on my list of great Sake bars in Houston. This is a great all around place, however the Sake is what keeps the customers coming back for more. The locals also seem to admire the deserts and the layout of the restaurant. The Blue Fish is a modern Sake bar open until 11:30 pm on Friday and Saturday night. The exquisite plating and dinner options are also great conversations starters for those dining in. Parking is provided by The Blue Fish.
