This out-of-the way restaurant is right off Cottage Hill Road in the B&B Pet Store plaza. It’s small but surprisingly has ample seating inside, including some authentic low tables and benches. There are no hibachi grills, simply sushi and lots of good sake. Konnitawa Sushi has a well-varied menu and the wait staff is pleasant and fast. The address is 5045 Cottage Hill Road and they are open six days a week Monday through Saturday 11am to 2pm, 5:00pm to 9:30pm.
One of the larger Japanese sake bars in Mobile, Bamboo is located right on a lake which gives you plenty of pretty views from the windows. You can also dine out on the deck! Bamboo Steakhouse also has one of the widest sake selections in Mobile so do ask for a menu when you visit here. You can make reservations for large gatherings like birthday parties. The address is 650 Cody Road and the hours are Sunday through Friday 11am to 2pm for lunch and 4pm to 10 pm for dinner. On Saturdays, only dinner is served from 4pm to 10:30pm.
Shogun Japanese Steakhouse and Grill
Conveniently located on Airport Boulevard, Shogun is well known for their skilled hibachi staff and of course, their sake. They have a U-shaped sake bar right beyond the foyer or if you decide to hunker down at a hibachi grill, the wait staff will deliver your sake to your table. Shogun’s bartenders also make specialty drinks including frozen fruit concoctions and tiki bowls. You’ll find Shogun’s at 7038 Airport Boulevard on the way to the Mobile Regional Airport. They are open Monday through Saturday from 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
