I live in a small town that is so small that if you blink, you’ll miss it. Therefore, when I want to dance and have a good time, I travel to Springfield, MO, which is about one hour away from where I live. The great thing about Springfield is that no matter what your preference is in atmosphere or music, you will always find something that you enjoy there.
The first place on my list is the Vintage Dance Lounge. Vintage has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap drinks, really good music and lighting, and a decent sized dance. On occasion they have parties and theme nights, in fact this March, they posted on their Facebook that they were hosting an event to help fight cancer. All proceeds were going to be donated to Relay for Life. They are located at 301 Park Central East and they are open from Thursday through Saturday 9 PM to 1:30 AM.
The next on my list is the Three 20’s club. This place is a toss between night club and dance club. It features local cover bands that play everything from classic rock to modern country, and they also feature a DJ that rocks the house throughout the night. The dance floor is good in size, the drinks are good, and the people are friendly. It has two full services bars, and upper and lower seating levels. They are located at 3005 South Kansas Expressway, and their operating hours are Thursday through Saturday 8 PM to 1 AM.
Midnight Rodeo is the third must visit dance club. It’s truly an experience you will just have to see to believe. This is a Honky Tonk kind of place, so if that is not something that intrigues you, then I would stick to the above two clubs. It has a massive dance floor, billiard room, and what’s a Honky Tonk without a mechanical bull. They have three full bars and one of them actually rotates 360 degrees. It has a great atmosphere, and amazing staff, I always have an amazing time when I visit. They are located at 1773 South Glenstone Ave and their operating hours are Thursday through Saturday 8 PM to 1 AM.
The last place on my list is another country music themed bar; the Electric Cowboy. Unlike, the Midnight Rodeo, this place doesn’t feature as much country music; however, people do tend to line dance to hip hop, which is fun to watch. This bar is enormous! It can hold around 900 people, so if you drive by and think it’s too pack, think again, you will have plenty room to dance your butt off all night long. They are located at 3626 South Campbell and their hours of operation are Wednesday through Saturday 7:30 PM to 1:30 AM and Sunday from 7:30 PM to 12 AM.
