A couple mom friends and I were having a fairly spirited conversation regarding some of the best birthday gifts for teens. In my house of 4 teen girls ranging in ages from 18 down to 13, I thought I had enough experience giving teen girls gifts for various occasions to make me an expert. The beauty of this mom gathering is the other two ladies have 2 boys each, which I felt made them experts on the best birthday gifts for that teen gender. We all agreed on the following ideas as being some of the most popular.
Ticket Stub Organizer
My dear friend struck it rich when she gave her teen boy a ticket stub organizer for his birthday. It didn’t take him long to go straight to work getting his ticket stubs out, and finding the perfect spot for each stub in his new organizer. In fact, she said it kept him busy for 2 hours straight the day he got it and he is always faithful in making sure he puts new stubs in the organizer. When you think about it, he’ll probably get a real hoot from that thing in years to come.
I guess all 3 of us agreed that you can’t beat the smile you get on the face of your teen when you know they love to skateboard or snowboard. Once they open a brand spankin’ new one for their birthday, they’re off and running to the nearest snowy hill, or skateboard ramp. Heck, the sidewalk will do for skateboards too. My point is, they really get fired up about these two items as birthday gifts.
Glee DVD Boxed Set
My young adult girls would love this gift equally as well as my 13 year old youngest daughter when I gave it to her for her latest birthday. The recent boom in this popular series not only has my teen girls glued to the tube, but the 20 year old as well. I’ll admit, I seem to be getting familiar with it myself. I’ll also admit nothing beats the feeling of seeing your teen daughter so elated about a gift you gave her.
Favorite Mall Gift Card
Your teen girl will never sneer at a gift card from her favorite mall. With a gift card to her most treasured stores she’ll be off and running before you know it, no doubt with a friend in tow. This gives her freedom to choose whatever her little heart desires. You’ll never hear any complaining about this gift. I’ve never heard a complaint about this gift in my 22 years of parenting girls.
