Planning a trip, choosing a destination and preparing for a vacation is always an exciting time in anyone’s life. The anticipation and build up of knowing you get to travel is a priceless feeling, especially when you get that time off work. But where do you even begin to start with your travel planning? Should you go it alone or allow a travel agent to assist you with your traveling needs?
Technology has made travel planning much easier than what it used to be. Now, you can go online to view flight availability, promotional codes for hotels and search for local activities that you can participate in. However, allowing yourself to use the knowledge of a travel agent, will make your trip planning not only less stressful, but a guaranteed success.
Travel agencies provide one thing that is considered priceless in this day and age … a guarantee. When you use an agent, your trip and all the hundreds of details are covered with a guarantee. Should a flight get cancelled or a natural disaster halt your cruise, a travel agent can re-book it for you without any sweat off your brow or a dime out of your pocket. They will handle the stress of rerouting your flight or talking to the cruise line to assess the arrangements. You will not have to hassle with a third party to try and solve this unfortunate event, travel agents do it for you.
A major benefit of utilizing a travel agent when booking a flight, is that they generally provide you with the most direct flight both to and from your destination. Whereas an online booking website will find you the cheapest flight, and not necessarily disclose the amount of stops you will make in order to arrive at your destination(s). Especially if you travel with children, non-stop is always a preferred way to go.
Many travel agencies have good relationships with other travel accommodation; such as airlines, hotel chains, tour buses etc. Agents more than likely can provide you with the best possible deal, or at least price match should you find it elsewhere for a discounted rate.
Another rewarding aspect of taking advantage of a travel agent, is that it gives you more free time. You tell the agent what you want, and they do the research necessary to find exactly what you want within your price range. This way you don’t have to peruse the internet for hours just to compare rates on a hotel.
Personally, I feel the most rewarded when I tell a travel agent what my “dream vacation” is, and don’t have to worry about making it happen, but allowing someone else the responsibility of making it happen. Planning the anticipated vacation takes a lot of time and effort, so if you can’t put 100% into planning, then allow someone who can help make your dream vacation become a reality!
