Detox water is water that is infused with root foods like ginger or herbs and fruits like lemons and limes. They sit over night in the water and turn it into water full of antioxidants and minerals essential for good health and clearer skin. It is important to know why you are using the foods you do in your water and what is the right type of container to put your water in. Let me share some tips on your first time making detox water.
Why use detox water? It is amazing for many reasons. In our day-to-day lives, we constantly pick up unhealthy toxins and chemicals hidden in our drinking water and food. Sometimes it can be the air around us or the places we go. Detox water helps to rid the body of anything we might have picked up along the way. There are different detox drinks for different areas of the body. There are ones made specifically for the lungs, bowels, kidneys, skin, and so on. Drinking detox water regularly will help you eliminate all of those unwanted toxins building up inside and will promote a healthy stronger body.
Detox water can consist of many different combinations. There are lots of things to add to your water. These are the ones I like to use and their benefits:
-Lemons: for digestion and pulls out toxins from your skin
-Ginger: has anti-inflammatory properties that are great for any type of pain or sickness
-Limes: contain vitamin C which is great for eye care and they aid in helping constipation
-Mint: helps with digestion and cramps
-Cinnamon: improves blood circulation and is great for weight loss
For liver, kidney, and lung care, use herbal blends in your water such as dandelion, marshmallow, and comfrey roots.
Making detox water is very simple. First off, buy a glass water bottle made specifically for detox water such as this one from amazon Detox Water Bottle. Put your herbs and whatever else you want to use in your water and leave it over night in your refrigerator. In the morning, take the herbs out and enjoy your naturally infused water! Feel the difference in your skin and notice how it glows and feels much softer and well cared for.
